What is Auricular Therapy?
- Auricular Therapy, (also called Auriculotherapy & Ear Acupuncture) is the stimulation of acupuncture points, represented on the auricle, external ear surface, for the diagnosis and treatment of health conditions in the body.
- The ear is a micro system, which reflects the entire body. It is based upon the ancient Chinese practice of acupuncture. Auricular Acupuncture is widely used and highly respected by medical doctors and other healthcare professionals as a therapy in its own right in France, Germany, Italy, Greece and the USA.
- Physical, emotional and mental conditions are treated by stimulating specific points on the ear, either through needling, seeds, electronic stimulation or massage.
How it Works
- There are over 200 acupuncture points on each ear.
- The outer ear acts like a switchboard to the brain
- All signals induced by ear acupuncture travel through a specific part of the brain, the diencephalon, to the corresponding body parts.

We have 15 years experience in auricular therapy and our clients have had some excellent results. Sessions are booked for an hour per session and we recommend follow up sessions according to individual progress and results.
We provide individual and group session by our highly trained professionals. The procedure is virtually painless and is safe, gentle and a natural way to heal your body.
The sessions are done in a safe and beautiful setting in Faerie Glen Pretoria but we also travel if group bookings are made. We’re looking forward to hearing from you!
WHAT HAPPENS IN A TREATMENT?
AURICULAR THERAPY
Auricular Acupuncture uses much smaller & thinner needles than those used for body acupuncture. Press seeds are used on small children and those scared of needles.
CONSULTATION
The practitioner will select the appropriate treatment taking into consideration age, lifestyle, general health & the condition being treated after discussing the patients needs.
NEEDLE PLACEMENT
During the Auricular Acupuncture treatment the practitioner inserts 5-7 needles / seeds while you are sitting comfortably in a chair. This is done in tranquil surroundings.
45 MINUTES
The needles stay in for 45 minutes while you are quietly relaxing, perhaps listening to some relaxation music. Many patients fall asleep because they feel so good and relaxed.
RELAXED & CALM
After the session, the needles are removed by the practitioner and you will feel relaxed, peaceful, calm and have a general sense of well being.
POST TREATMENT
Seeds are placed on specific points in the ear. These are worn for a few days after the treatment & the patient is requested to stimulate the points to activate them.

I am Scared of Needles?
Don't worry!
Instead of using needles, we use small magnetic beads or seeds that are taped to points on the external ear.
Acupressure beads can be placed in the same locations with the use of medical tape, and can be worn to provide longer lasting relief. Acupressure beads can be used in place of acupuncture needles, or in conjunction with them for optimal support
